Maha Shivaratri 2013 Preparations at Pashupatinath Temple

Maha Shivaratri, that will be observed all over Nepal tomorrow is one of the biggest hindu festivals. To make Maha Shivaratri more successful, the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) has finished all decorations and preparations.

On Firday, the PADT cleaned the Bagmati river with the help and support of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Nepal Police and volunteers from different organisations. PADT Treasurer Narottam Baidhya said ” All preparations beside decorations have been completed and the stage is almost set for the festival.” Just like in previous years, they will set a temporary health camp. Furthermore, Nepal Telecom will construct a seperate tower to make communication more easier. In addition, flower petals will be blow out by the Nepal Army from a helicopter on the Pashupatinath area.

According to the Baidhya, there will be three routes to make the entrance of devotees more comfortable. Side by side, there will be a separate priority line for those who pay Rs. 1,000. These three planned routes are one from Gaushala, another Chabahil and the third one from Sifal.

For security of the festival, around 5,200 police personnel will be circulated and 65 close circuit cameras will be put to monitor during the festival.
