Anuradha Koirala, CNN Hero 2010 inaugurated the programme called Hariyo Ban on the occasion of International Women’s Day today (8th March) at hotel Yak & Yeti in Kathmandu.
Hariyo Ban is a program organised to reduce the adverse impacts of climate change and threats to biodiversity in Nepal. It is a five year action which will be carry out by working the government, communities, civil society and private sector.
Anuradha Koirala is one of the popular social activists of Nepal. As a director of Maiti Nepal, she has contributed significantly against girl trafficking and rescued many victims of sex trafficking in the country.
Involvement of Anuradha Koirala in the project would definitely aid to conserve and reduce threats in biodiversity of Nepal. Kudos to Koirala for backing up such projects!
