Nepali migrant workers arrested in South Korea

More than 50 illegal Nepali migrant workers have been arrested by the South Korean authorities over the past week from different industrial areas in South Korea.

South Korea’s Immigration Department has revealed that there are more than 1800 Nepali migrants have been working illegally in South Korea. The South Korean government has intensified crackdown on the illegal migrant workers over the months. And besides Nepali migrant workers, others from Indonesia, China and Vietnam have also been arrested in significant numbers by the South Korea authorities over the past few days.

Nepali migrant workers arrested yesterday include Shekhar Subba, Prem Limbu, Yam Sherma from Osan city in Gyeonggi Province. Kumar Thapa, Bharat Karki, Durga Chaulagain, all from Bhojpur district of Nepal and Shyam Karki from Khotang district were arrested on Thursday.
