Nepal Airlines to Fly with New Livery Design

Nepal Airlines, the flag carrier airline of Nepal, will be now flying in a new livery designed to the represent the national flag. The new design has displaced old Red and Blue stripe design with more of an expressive design in crimson red and blue color along with the sun and the crescent moon, representing the national flag of Nepal; which extends from vertical fin up to posterior of the airplane body.

The new design was selected out of the 62 entries from 31 individuals partaking in the competition independently called by the Airlines. The model for design suggested by Bishwash Pokharel was selected to be best by a specialist jury team consisting of Madan Chitrakar, Lalit Bikram Shah, Nabin Joshi, Swasti Rajbhandari and Ganesh Bahadur Chand. The selected design richly symbolizes nationality and cultural identity of Nepal along with the emblem of Aakash Bhairab, the deity of airways, and the national flag.
