The nine Nepalis that have been arrested are Santosh Poudel, Ramesh Bahadur Bhujel, Aman Gupta, Rakam Rai, Manoj Sunar, Nilkantha Jaisi, Dal Bahadur Bambo, Pawan Shah and Rakesh Raya.
Death reports that are in the Nepali media haven’t been reported and are baseless according to Arjun Bahadur Thapa, spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Nepali embassy in Malaysia has also clarified that it hasn’t received any death confirmations of Nepali workers. In a statement issued by the embassy, it has urged all Nepali brothers and sisters to continue in their work with restraint and not get involved in any provocative acts.
Here’s a video from Avenues TV reporting the news and speaking to Lekh Nath Bhattarai, acting Nepali ambassador to Malaysia.
