Nepali Workers Group Attacked in Malaysia, 3 injured and 9 Arrested

Three Nepali workers were injured and nine of them were arrested following a clash between two Nepali groups in Pasir Gudang of Johor Bahru, Malaysia on Sunday evening. Between the two Nepali groups, the local Malaysian gang supported one of them to attack the other group.

Rajiv Biswokarma of Samari-4, Nuwakot and Ram Lal Sah of Mohammadpur in Chandra Nigahapur, Rautahat are the two injured that are still undergoing treatment. One of the total 3 injured has received minor treatment and returned back.

The nine Nepalis that have been arrested are Santosh Poudel, Ramesh Bahadur Bhujel, Aman Gupta, Rakam Rai, Manoj Sunar, Nilkantha Jaisi, Dal Bahadur Bambo, Pawan Shah and Rakesh Raya.

Nepali Workers in MalaysiaDeath reports that are in the Nepali media haven’t been reported and are baseless according to Arjun Bahadur Thapa, spokesperson at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Nepali embassy in Malaysia has also clarified that it hasn’t received any death confirmations of Nepali workers. In a statement issued by the embassy, it has urged all Nepali brothers and sisters to continue in their work with restraint and not get involved in any provocative acts.
