He died at the ICU of Gandaki Hospital in Pokhara, where he had been going through treatment for last five days. He had been suffering long since two weeks from cardiac and urinal contagions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">His all-time best songs, <i>\u201cJati Maya Laye Pani\u201d, \u201cTagaro Ma Rumal Rakhi\u201d<\/i> and <i>\u201cKasto Thau Ma Fulyau Timi\u201d<\/i> are typical of Nepali folk music, people still humming the songs on their patois. He has been accredited with other dozens of songs, heightening the Nepali Music Industry. As a poet, his two poem anthologies, <i>Dhunge Saghu Ko Mela Ma (1998)<\/i> and <i>Pokhara Ma Phool Phuldaina (2005)<\/i>, are also published. Gauchan has been twice awarded the third prize in the Poetry Festival organized by Nepal Academy in 1982 and 1987.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Lyricist Gauchan had also declared Lumle Village of Kaski\u00a0as \u2018Poetic Village\u2019 with a movement from Samrakshan Kavita Andolan. The movement was started by Sarubhakta in Pokara in 1995.
