The Embassy of Nepal, one of the strategic partners of the London Mela has participated in the 11th edition of the Mela that took place on Sunday from 1pm to 9pm at Gunnersbury Park in London. Participated by more than 80,000 people, the London Mela is produced by Ealing Council and supported by the Mayor of London, London Borough of Hounslow and Arts Council England, with BBC Asian Network programming the main stage.<\/p>\n

\"London<\/a><\/p>\n

One of the biggest outdoor south Asian Festivals in Europe, the Mela<\/a> is popular for its musical performances, spectacular outdoor arts performances, tastes of South Asia food market, funfair, craft and exhibitors market. The musical performances, this year included big names such as Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Harshdeep Kaur and AS Kang among others.<\/p>\n

Nepal had performances only at the classical stage of the Mela and hundreds of people that visited the Nepali Stalls were provided with publicity materials, posters and DVDs on Nepal. The Nepali stall in the Mela was formally inaugurated by his Excellency Dr.Suresh Chandra Chalise who later joined the VIP reception for the high-level dignitaries attending the Mela. The Panche Baja<\/a>, one of the major highlights of Nepali Music at the event, followed him.<\/p>\n
